Demet Soyyilmaz, JRP 2016-2017

Demet Soyyilmaz is the Communication Officer for Mr Peter Edelsbrunner’s 2016-2017 JRP research team. Currently her team is aiming to investigate the relation between learning experiences of students and their scientific thinking. She describes her journey as a Junior Researcher below:

“For me, life as a Junior Researcher was full of learning more and more everyday towards completing our manuscript and submission. For many of us, it was the first time to contribute to a research as an author and have the opportunity to hopefully make it visible to so many people. We all have our busy lives in our countries in different institutions but the Junior Researcher identity we have in common is always present at some level and it connects us. It is deeply connected to our research project in the sense that we partly study how informal learning shapes scientific thinking beyond conventional learning. JRP is a perfect example of an informal, purely interest driven experience that enhances our scientific thinking as early career psychological researchers.”
