JRP alumni contribute to a multi-country study on reappraisal interventions during Covid-19

Several JRP alumni collaborated on a study with the Psychological Science Accelerator, a global network of psychological science research groups, which resulted in the publication of the study in Nature Human Behaviour. The study, titled “A multi-country test of brief reappraisal interventions on emotions during the COVID-19 pandemic” and led by Dr Ke Wang can be found here. The research group collected data in 68 different countries and had over 21,000 thousand participants. The study showed that reappraisal, a strategy for regulating emotions that modifies how the individual thinks about a situation, can reduce negative emotions and increase positive emotions. This was tested within the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has increased negative emotions worldwide. A video explaining the findings of the study was created by Harvard Kennedy School and can be found here.

The JRP alumni involved are Adrian Dahl Askelund, Angelos P. Kassianos, Anna Louise Todsen, Barbora Hubena, Celia Esteban-Serna, Jáchym Vintr, Jana B. Berkessel, Kaja Damnjanović, Katrine Krabbe Thommesen, Maja Friedemann, Marek Vranka, Martin Čadek, Milica Vdovic, Nicolas Say, Nikolay R. Rachev, Ondřej Kácha, Samuel Lins, Sandra J.
