We are pleased to announce that the theme of the 2019 jSchool will be:
Behavioural Economics: The psychology of financial choice.
We encourage applications for projects on applying behavioural economics to all areas, not only limited to economy or the financial sector. These could include public health, energy, environment, consumer choice, communication, education, politics, and more.
Examples for research ideas can be found below:
- Does the plastic bag tax have the same effect in countries with significant economic inequalities?
- Using gain framing to reduce stereotype threat in teenagers.
- Does personality predict receptiveness to financial nudges such as energy letters?
- Temporal discounting to improve outgroup bias in political conversations.
- Implementation of growth mindset for learning outcomes.
- Boosting better management decisions in high-turnover organisations.
- Game Theory to increase recognition of fake news.
- Do nudges change recycling behaviours differently between individualistic and collectivistic societies?
