Speaking of potential impact from young psychologists, great news just reached us from Dr Stuart Flint, whom we expect you’ll remember.

As a Research Supervisor in 2014-2015, he led a successful project on obesity discrimination in society with his JRP Team. Their project Obesity Discrimination in the Workplace: “You’re NOT Hired!” (co-authored with Sonia Codreanu, Amalia Gomoiu, Martin Čadek, Vanja Ivić, and Colene Zomer) has now been published in Frontiers in Psychology, as part of a special edition on Psychology and Policy.

This publication is the result of tremendous effort and commitment that this team gathered over the course of almost two years. We are thus very excited to see their findings on obesity discrimination in the professional sphere are making noise.

Their findings have already been reported by major media outlets, including being broadcast by the BBC (from 02:18:39) and ITV (clip soon, we hope!). Policymakers are already tabling possibilities to translate their scientific conclusions and recommendations into legislation, which has been highlighted by even the Sunday Times and the Daily Mail!

We have a feeling this may only be the beginning…
